OUR TROOPS ARE STILL DYING

Last night as I saw a report on the news talking about the number of our soldiers that died in Iraq yesterday. I was saddened to see how quickly the reporter mentioned the events that caused their deaths and how unconcerned the reporter was. Then in a matter of seconds the report was over and the news network was off chasing some story of importance to the American people like who was about to win an Oscar and which actors and actresses had broken up this week.

Now the question I have for you is. should we be mad at the reporter who so lightly treated the deaths of our soldiers? Maybe we should be disgusted at the network for giving so little time to something as important as the lives of our soldiers who are fighting in a foreign land and instead choosing to devote TV time to the love affairs of the Hollywood types.

It was at that moment that I realized that the problem doesn't lie with the reporter or the network. We should place our anger at "we the people" of this country. After all, reporters work for the network and go where they are told and the networks tell reporters to cover stories that the public (we the people) have an interest in.

At this time the public has long since forgotten the days when everyone was glued to their televisions as our troops stormed in to Baghdad. Now the war in Iraq is all but forgotten, but the fact is we still have soldiers there.

We have to ask ourselves. what would it be like to be an American soldier waking up to the realization every day, that as they work to make life better for the people in Iraq and to protect us here at home, that just around the next corner someone is waiting to kill them? To make matters worse, once that person fires the shot, before you can return fire you have to carefully make sure that you're shooting back does not harm any innocent civilians.

If this nightmare of a mission were not bad enough, it only gets worse when our soldiers realize that the people back here at home have forgotten that they are there and that they are there for us. What kind of people have we become? We care so much about our soldiers, we all mention them with words of honor and praise, not one of us would ever wish them harm but somehow we have managed to let events of far less importance control our time and our thoughts.

You see, saying words of praise about our military and the job they do whenever the chance presents itself, is something we do to make ourselves feel better because the fact of the matter is that they are doing the job that none of us want to do. One day soon we are going to feel the shamefulness of our attitudes. That day will come when our soldiers realize that words of praise and gratitude are simply words and that the truth is, we have forgotten all about them. Let's not allow that to happen.

When a soldier falls and no one cares, it means that the war that the soldier died in was wrong. When a soldier dies and it is of less importance to the people he is fighting for than which team wins the big football game, then that soldier has died in vane. When a soldier dies fighting for a cause that can't be explained, then the death of that soldier is a bloody shame. When a soldier dies and you don't take the time to morn his passing, then you too are to blame. They are there for us. They are not there for their benefit. We should have the decency to put their work and their sacrifices at the very top of the things we care about. If we did, then the networks would tell the reporters to keep us informed about the lives of every soldier in the field.

Surely there is something we can do to keep the spirit of our soldiers high enough to make up for the fear and sacrifice they go through every day. Surely there is something that we can do to let them know that they are not forgotten. Surely there is something that we can do to let them know in advance, that if they fall in battle they will be more than just some cold statistic that passes in less than a second of a reporter's story on some network here at home. No matter what any politician tells you about the status of the war in Iraq, if our soldiers are still dying every day then there is still a real war in Iraq.

Whether it is a war to free the people in Iraq of an evil dictator or whether it is a war to make this country safer from the threat of terrorists, we should never forget that it is a war and that our soldiers are still dying.

DON'T BE DECEIVED

If you watched and listened to the pundits on television, the election of a candidate to represent the Democratic Party in the race against George Bush for the Presidency in 2004 is over. It looks as though Senator John Kerry has won. It is amazing to me, how there can be one caucus, one primary and voila,' the election is already over. In days past, the results would not be known until the parties' convention decided a winner by counting the votes of the delegates. More recently, the answer of who would win the primary was known when enough states had held their primary election and the candidate had accumulated enough delegates to win, which made the rest of the states' primaries and the parties' convention simply a matter of formality. pomp and ceremony.

In more recent times the primary event known as "Super Tuesday" meant that the parties' choice of which candidate would win, would be resolved. Never before has there been a primary election with such a large field of candidates, let alone an action decided and chosen by the media, after one caucus and one state primary election. If it is left up to the pundits there is really no need for any state, in this time of tough economic conditions, to waste their money by holding their primary election.

The problem I have with this latest development in determining the outcome of a primary election is that we are steadily being lead to a point where people will believe that their vote doesn't matter. Never forget, it is your vote that they will lie, cheat, and steal for.

If the pundits are right and Senator Kerry really is so far out in front of all the other candidates. that Senator Kerry has already won, for certain. why would anyone, in any of the upcoming state primaries, need to bother with the time, trouble and effort necessary to go out and vote? I don't believe that this accelerated, manipulated system of choosing a parties' candidate for the highest office in the land resembles, in any way, the concept our forefathers had in mind for choosing who would become The President of The United States of America.

I would be truly alarmed at this latest development in the primary system were it not for something that makes this shortcut in the system even more horrifying. You may be asking . what could be worse than the pundits picking who wins the primary prior to each state casting their votes the way it is supposed to work?

My friends, there is something worse and that is . when people, i.e. the Clintons, make a mockery of the entire Democratic Party Primary process, for the express purpose of creating and scheming that Hillary Clinton will be the only person that will be allowed to win the Democratic Party Nomination. I know, she has stated repeatedly that she would not seek, nor would she be drafted into the Presidential race in 2004. However, you know that I know better than to listen to what they say.

Senator Clinton and her husband have plotted and planned, ruthlessly, to fabricate the outcome of the 2004 Democratic Party Primary. Their only goal has been to subliminally force everyone to beg Hillary to do her duty to "God and her Country," to be the candidate, drafted and chosen to run against George Bush. Hillary, as the fantasy is played out will be crowned as the only candidate that can beat George W. Bush in 2004, a total scheme to defraud.

Now that we know what is really happening behind the scenes, let's talk about the who, what, when and where that the controlled media message is. Try as they might, the pundits and all of the people in the Democratic Party will have very little if anything to say in determining who the Democrats will choose to ultimately run against George W. Bush. One fact on Hillary. she won't do anything, I mean she won't even enter a meeting, unless it is pre-arranged in advance that she will be victorious and get her way.

Mark these words, Hillary does not ever want to be caught up in the traditional face to face campaigning process consisting of games and brown-nosing, risking the effects that the brutal facts of the"reality of Hillary TV exposed" would have, let alone to be confronted with topics, debate issues and controversies, one on one.

The Clintons, as always are using their power and ability to deceive you and to rig the outcome. So, Senator Kerry, please don't be deceived into believing that you are going to be your parties' candidate chosen to run against George Bush this fall.

To all the people in this nation, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't be deceived into believing that our system of electing our leaders is safe from abuse and foul play.

Most Importantly, Hillary Clinton, don't you be deceived into thinking that your plan has worked, because YOU will not be allowed to win! Indeed Hillary, you and Bill have deceived most of the people in this country, but, the fact of the matter is that you have deceived yourselves into believing that the people of this country did not care enough about their country, enough about putting food on the table and shoes on their children, to stop you. The truth is, Hillary, your plan has already failed. We the People do Care! You, Hillary, will never be the President of The United States. Very soon Hillary, you will loose your seat in the Senate, for very good reasons and once and for all, you and Bill will finally be removed from power and this country will be saved from your deceptive, ruthless and conniving evil power.

If I could wish anything for the people of The Great United States Of America, the greatest nation on earth, it would be that you would never let yourselves be manipulated and deceived into believing that regardless of what anyone might try to do today or in the future, that there is nothing that you can do. That is in reality nothing but a malicious attempt to destroy the foundations that this country was built upon. United and empowered once again, we together will make a difference.
